The Executive Chairman of Hearts of Oak, Togbe Afede XIV believes Samuel Boadu was misled into the inner perimeter of the Accra Stadium during the club’s 1-0 win over AS Real Bamako in the CAF Confederation Cup on Sunday.

Togbe Afede XIV, who revealed that the former Hearts trainer had apologised for his behaviour, blamed the incident on poor security measures at the Accra Stadium.

Coach Boadu was slammed by the management of the Phobians for entering into the inner perimeter of the Accra Stadium to meet the Hearts players before the commencement of Sunday’s match with AS Real Bamako.

The Hearts supporters after exiting the continental competition on a 1-3 aggregate showed massive support for their former trainer by holding him shoulder-high.

Commenting on the post-match incidents at the Accra Stadium, the Hearts chairman explained that the board was aware of the people who misled Coach Boadu into doing what he did on the match day.

He asked all stakeholders of the club to come together to ensure that Hearts is restored to its glory days.

“It was an unfortunate situation but we know those who are behind all these things and I wonder what they seek to achieve.

“I’ve known Samuel Boadu for a long time and I can tell you that he was misled by some people to go into the inner perimeter,” Togbe Afede XIV said.

“He has reached out to me with an apology and we don’t bear grudges with him. As a club, we believe that it was poor security measures that got our former coach into the inner perimeter and we have to sort that out.”
