Fire has gutted Sunyani main garage in the Bono region on Thursday February 9,2024.
The fire caused damage to properties and personal belongings valued at thousands of Ghana cedis.
The exact cause of the inferno remains unknown, but it ravaged a warehouse containing vehicle spare parts, several mechanic shops, and two residential apartments.
Fortunately, there were no reported casualties.
During a visit by Adom News, some affected mechanics and scrap dealers were seen salvaging spare parts from the debris.
In an interview, these mechanics appealed to the government for assistance in rebuilding their shops.
Despite efforts by some mechanics to contain it, the fire quickly spread.
By the time personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) arrived, it had already engulfed significant portions of the garage and adjacent shops.
The GNFS has initiated an investigation into the cause of the fire.
