He also stated that the context was not limited to Ghana but to the rest of Africa and beyond, noting that to make it more attractive the 1st prize package has been tripled and the winning band increased.

Mr Graham, the Chief Gladiator was optimistic that the club can attain Olympic status in the near future and can possibly win some medals for Ghana.
Why Osagyefo?

Charles Hansen-Quao. Race Director

Mr Charles Hansen-Quao was keen to state the reason for choosing the name
Osagyefo.
Making reference to the achievements of the First President of the Republic, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, in the area of sports, he convinced all present that no other name could do the event justice.

He also added that the use of the image of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah is geared towards promoting African unity by using cycling as a tool to achieve that purpose.
However, it didn’t end with just the name. We could also see a silhouette of Osagyefo in this year’s official logo.
The logo features a silhouette of Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the African map and the national colors of Ghana which are distinct, also speaking to the theme of the event.

Our Ghana by Bike (GBB) and Last Mile to School Initiative (LAMISI) are both initiatives by GCC geared towards the promotion and use of cycling and cycling related activities for good health, tourism, and charity.
