After weeks of performances and evictions, the finals of this year’s MTN Hitmaker is set to come off at the Dome, Accra International Conference Centre this evening.

The event will see performances from artistes such as KiDi, Kurl Songx, Mr Drew, Lasmid, Ali Baba, Kofi Pages and Nessa. All of them are contestants and winners of previous editions of MTN Hitmaker.
The final four who will battle for the GH₵120,000 grand prize and the bragging rights are Achiaa, Koby Tuesday, Adepa and Gabinova.

Speaking with Graphic Showbiz, Adepa said she was sure that the night would be good. “Over the weeks, I have learnt that it takes more than just talent to survive in the music industry.

“I have learnt the importance of vocals, creativity and attitude on stage and that is exactly what I am bringing on stage this Saturday. I wish I could give it all out but I know that it is going to be a great night, one that anyone who comes to watch will not forget in a hurry.

“However, as I’m doing my part, I need the votes as well so I ask fans, lovers of my craft and family everywhere to vote for me so that I bring the crown home.”

Kobby Tuesday promised that the night would be full of surprises. “I’ve learnt a lot since I came into the Hitmaker competition and I believe Saturday is the day I need to prove to the judges and the world that I take every criticism serious and I work with it.

“I am going to be in a form that I have never been before since the competition started but then again I need the votes. Let me add this, irrespective of who emerges the winner, in the end, we are all winners and ready for the music market.”

For Gabinova, the feeling is one of optimism. “Before I entered the music industry, I had no idea about the technical aspects of the craft but being in this competition has taught me a lot and I’m really excited.

“Even if I do not emerge the ultimate winner, I have learnt so much that I think would do me a lot of good in my musical journey. I ask people to vote for me, the truth is everyone who made it to the finals is already a winner.”
