Latex Foam, Bok Nam Kim golf tournament ends successfully

The August edition of the Bok Nam Kim Golf Club’s tournament ended successfully last Saturday with Solomon Oko Allotey, taking home the coveted prize.

The monthly competition which was sponsored by the Latex Foam (Latex Foam Monthly Medal), saw Mr Allotey bagging a net score of 68 points off a handicap of 11 in the ‘Category A’ of the men’s handicaps.

The second and third place positions went to Jeffery Mouganie and Christopher Mbii with 71 and 72 points respectively. They were all presented with trophies.

In the category B contest, the top three golfers were Ravi Ahuja (64 points), David Renner (65 points), and Frederic Vandevyver (66 points). They also received trophies.

In the women’s division, Mina Banful took home the ultimate prize with 63 net score whilst Belinda Kumako played second to her with 67 points off a handicap of 17. The third place went to Mariene Tonyigah who also scored 67 points off a handicap of 28. They were also presented with trophies.

The competition attracted golfers from different clubs in Accra.

Addressing the golfers, the Public Relations Officer of Latex Foam, Gifty E. Appiah expressed the readiness of the company to promote sporting activities in Ghana.

She said Latex Foam was interested in nurturing talents in the sporting field to represent the country in international competitions, and that as a friend of golf, the company will continue to sponsor sporting activities.

“It is important that we develop sports in the country,” she said, calling on other corporate institutions to support sports in Ghana.

For Mrs Appiah, Latex Foam has been sponsoring many sporting events in the country, particularly golf, pledging that the company will continue to support sports development in Ghana so as to help produce sports men and women who could represent Ghana at the international championships.

“For us as an organisation, corporate social responsibility is very dear to our hearts”, she said, adding that “and surely, sports is at the heart of it.”
