Asante Kotoko coach, Mariano Barreto leads a host of premier league coaches who have been approved by the Ghana Football Association to be legitimately certified to coach in the local league.
The Portuguese trainer was approved alongside all the other 17 Premier League coaches. They are said to have satisfied all the conditions required by the local governing body for coaches in the Ghana Premier League before handling any elite club in the country.
Out of the 18 coaches, four are expatriates with UEFA Pro and UEFA license A certificates while all their Ghanaian counterparts presented CAF license A.
Of the four expatriate coaches — Dreams FC’s Vladislav Viric, Kasim Gokyildiz of King Faisal and Ashgold’s Folz Romain are coaching with UEFA License A, while Kotoko’s Mariano Barreto has UEFA Pro license.
Aduana Stars, Inter Allies, King Faisal and Accra Great Olympics are the clubs whose assistant coaches failed to meet the GFA requirements were not approved.
