Visiting Bechem United delivered a better than expected performance to hold Liberty Professionals in a one all drawn game played at the Dansoman Carl Reindorf Park in Accra.
The match which was supposed to be played last Sunday was rescheduled for yesterday after the delay in the COVID- 19 test results of the players.
With that settled , business resumed at the Carl Reindorf Park and Liberty took off straight away with an onslaught at the half of their opponents.
Skillful winger Abraham Wayo combined effectively with George Amoako and Ernest Danso in the area but their attack was halted by the Bechem Defence.
The homesters did not wait long enough to fetch the opener in the 16th minute when Abraham Wayo’s cross a was headed into the net after midfielder George Amoako released him into the Bechem area.
After the recess Liberty sat back to protect their goal but the visitors attacks were intensed.
Striker Stephen Owusu missed a sitter in the 54th minute.
He made amends in the 55th after new introduction Clinton Duodo was brought down in the box.
The resultant penalty saw Owusu beautifully convert for the equaliser.
Bechem piled up the pressure and nearly increased their tally but the Liberty defence stood tall.
Both had their chances as chances were few and far in between.
The match came to an end after 93 minutes.
